Happy Jeans Friday!

Hi everyone & happy jeans Friday! I took the day off of work today to see my new niece, Autumn, but she hasn't arrived yet! Like I've said a million times - I'm a sucker for babies. Even if we don't want them - I love when other people have them! :) This baby needs to hurry up and get here, because I simply cannot wait another minute to meet her!

So I'm going to be short because I'm enjoying my day off & I rarely ever take a day off. Keep your fingers crossed that Autumn decides she's spent enough time in the womb and is ready to come out soon. I know my sister-in-law is hoping for the same at this point!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Senior Moment

Today I did something that made me feel old. Really really old.

I bought a coffee maker.

I have absolutely no idea why this makes me feel old, but it does. The thing is - I don't care. Because this bad boy is fancy & can start making coffee for me while I'm still asleep. Score!

What do you think? What's the first thing you remember doing/buying/thinking that made you stop and say, "wow...I'm old"?

Music Monday!

Hi friends! I hope your weekend was as fabulous as mine. Had I been less lazy (pretty standard) I would have had the pictures ready to post today, but as usual - I don't! :)

On Saturday, Rob & I attended the Warhol exhibit at the Milwaukee Art Museum. After learning more about his life, I was completely enamored with his work. I could have stayed in that exhibit all day! Unfortunately, you were not allowed to take pictures in the exhibit, but I was able to get pictures of a few pieces that were outside of the main exhibit. Stay tuned.

After that - we walked around the museum, and I snapped pictures of "art" that I consider a basic-level scribble worthy of my 3 year old niece. Some are really moving - especially the black canvas with an oddly-shaped square drawn in chalk. Really good stuff, I'm telling you. I felt like THIS GUY, and wanted to give almost all of them an "F." Then again...what do I know about art? I'll post the pictures later this week and let you decide!

Now for this week's song. Why hello Train - welcome back to the music world. I don't think I've heard a single peep out of them since "Meet Virginia" clouded the airwaves, but they're back & better than ever. I absolutely love this song, and hope you do too!

Happy Jeans Friday!

Happy jeans Friday! I must admit that I am not wearing jeans, but leggings on this gorgeous day. Seriously, November...what's going on? Not that I'm complaining about all of the fantastic weather we've had lately, but I have a feeling it's teeing us up for a horrible December. Ick!

I hope to have part II of the picture post up by early next week. Thank you for all of your nice comments - and seriously...I wish I wasn't adopted so I had my Babcia's genes. Unreal!

Any big plans for the weekend? Not us. Pretty low key, which seems to be a theme lately. No complaints here!

I leave you with one of my new favorite pictures from we heart it.  How cute is this??
(And if you love pictures & haven't signed up for we heart it, you should.) :)

Have a great weekend, everyone!

...I will now post some of the happenings of the past year of my life. I'm terrible about actually posting pictures, but at least this is a start! And I always feel like we never do anything fun - but this proves otherwise! We aren't lame after all. :)

I am WAY too lazy to put these in any sort of order, but all of these things did take place in 2009. This will be the first of a few posts while I get all caught up! :)

So far in 2009, I...

Dressed up like Audrey Hepburn for Halloween...

...and as a bridesmaid in Brad & Steph's wedding in Chicago.
(how adorable are they??)

Did not feel guilty about consuming one of these with my husband during Summerfest.

Stayed in Niagra Falls, Canada during a business trip to Buffalo, NY.
(the view from my hotel room)

Laughed hysterically as my best friend's husband played with the animal heads at Steph & Brad's rehearsal dinner in China Town
(inappropriate means nothing to our group...clearly)

Made delicious sweet potato fries...

...that my husband actually enjoyed!

Ate dinner with customers at the Signature Room, on the 95th floor of the John Hancock building in Chicago.

And took part in eating this mess at Real Chili wayyyyy past my bedtime.

Drove toward a beautiful sunset on my way to Madison...
(I do not endorse taking pictures while driving, but look at how pretty it was!!)

...and enjoyed this Sunrise over Lake Michigan.

I was thrilled to see The Fray at the Marcus Ampitheater...

...and saddened by the news that my friend Trevor would be leaving Milwaukee to join the Army.
(we're SO proud of you!!!)

And last, but not least (for this post)...

We celebrated my Babcia's (Grandmother in Polish) 90th birthday...
(picture of me & some of my cousins, and seriously...does that woman in red look NINETY to you???)

...at an authentic Polish restaurant that looked like this.
Amazing.

Stay tuned for part II (sometime in the next few days)!!

Music Monday!

Hi everyone! I wish I had time to write about, well...anything! However, it's budgeting & pricing season here at work, and finding time to breathe, much less write, has become a challenge.

I hope you'll forgive me for keeping this short and straight to the point. I promise to make it up to you with an action-packed picture post detailing the past few months of our lives. Deal? Deal.

Love me some John Mayer, but does anyone think this song sounds strangely like "Wildflowers" by Tom Petty?? Even the piano at the end is strangely familiar...

Happy Jeans Friday!

Hi everyone! Happy jeans Friday! Once again - the weeks are seriously flying by, and I have no idea how that happens. I don't have much for you today, because after a busy week of travel - I find it hard to be amusing.

Which is why I'm extremely lucky to have so many amusing friends. The email below is an actual email I received from my dear friend Shaina. She was warned that this email may be used against her at any given point in time, so I don't feel THAT bad about posting it.

I just took a nibble of a dog treat because it smelled like a Lorna Doone.

The weird thing? It almost tasted like one, too. Matt dared me.

Gotta love the old "husband dare." Happy weekend, everyone! :)
